Chuck has spent his entire professional career in the plumbing, heating, electrical and cabinet wholesale industry, and the past 26 years with Active. After joining Active in 1985, Chuck held a number of key positions before being named president in the early 1990’s, and has been the ‘face of the organization’ ever since.
He spent 6 years in the United States Coast Guard, both active duty and in the reserves, and is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He was designated one of the Top 100 Purchasing Professionals for 3 consecutive years by Supply House Times. A long time resident of Lake County he was a member of the Painesville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the Lake County YMCA Board, for 12 years, in addition to his activity in numerous industry associations.

Jeff Spring, Director of Sales & Marketing JeffS@ActivePlumbing.com

A native of Northeast Ohio, Jeff has nearly 30 years of experience in plumbing, heating and HVAC wholesale distribution. A veteran of Famous Supply, he has also spent time with Ferguson Enterprises, Webb Supply and R E Michael.
Jeff brings extensive industry experience in areas such as territory and regional sales management, program development & administration, product management, contractor development and market growth initiatives.
Jeff will oversee Active’s sales and marketing initiatives across our six locations with responsibility for market share growth, product development, marketing strategies and development of the sales team.
Jeff & his family live in North Kingsville, in Ashtabula County. |
Nick Cellini, Director of Operations NickC@ActivePlumbing.com

Nick brings over 30 years of experience in the plumbing & heating industry to the Active management team, and has additional expertise in the HVAC, PVF and Industrial MRO sectors as well.
A veteran of the Hajoca organization, where he was a profit center manager overseeing 4 locations on the west coast, he most recently was running the Bakersfield Pipe & Supply operation in Las Vegas, NV. Originally from the Mid-Atlantic region he has spent time with Schumacher & Seiler in Baltimore, MD and the Noland Company in York, PA.
Nick oversees our 5 branch locations, and our counter sales team in Painesville, ensuring that we continue to provide the highest level of service and information resource in the marketplace. |
Tracy Smearman, Director of Finance & Administration TracyS@ActivePlumbing.com

Tracy brings over 25 years of business consulting and MRO distribution experience to Active. A graduate of Cleveland State University with degrees in both Accounting and Finance, she began her career in public accounting, consulting with a variety of companies on business, IT, and other operational issues. More recently she provided operational and financial leadership for a privately-held wholesale distribution company headquartered in NE Ohio.
A long-time Chardon resident, Tracy is a member of both the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Public Accountants. She is also an active board member of the Lake-Geauga Educational Assistance Foundation, serving as the head of their audit committee.
Tracy oversees Active’s financial, administrative, and human resource activities. |
Cliff Holroyd, Logistics Manager CliffH@ActivePlumbing.com

A long time resident of Lake County, Ohio, well known for its landscape/nursery industry, Cliff began his career in 1988 at Ridge Manor Nurseries where he held various positions over his 15 years with the company. In 1994, he became the Logistics/Inventory Manager where he learned and applied his transportation management expertise. Cliff joined the Active Plumbing family in 2004 bringing those skills, and his customer focused approach, to our Warehouse & Delivery team.
Outside of work, Cliff is an active member of the youth athletic world coaching various sports from Perry Youth Football to both Rec and Travel Basketball (he has 3 very active kids). |
